The 3rd Batch of Training Methodology 1 (TM 1) conducted by the Regional Training Center for the Calendar Year 2012 yielded 19 graduates out of the 25 who enrolled in the course.
Participants of the TM 1 came from various private and public Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) in Region VII as well as from the neighboring province of Leyte in Region VIII.
The TM 1 is a 3-week training which adopted the Competency – Based Training (CBT) Modality and covers six (6) Units of Competencies namely;
- PLAN TRAINING SESSION
- SUPERVISE WORK BASED LEARNING
- MAINTAIN TRAINING FACILITIES
- UTILIZE ELECTRONIC MEDIA IN FACILITATING LEARNING
- FACILITATE LEARNING SESSION
- FACILITATE COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT
In each of the competency, the participants are required to produce various types of documents (deliverables) which range from Training Session Plans to Competency Based Learning Materials (CBLM). The participants also demonstrated their Teaching Skills through a Micro-teaching demonstration. Likewise, they also apply their skills in utilizing electronic media in facilitating learning (a new competency for TVET Trainers), by producing Video Learning Materials and operating multimedia facilities.
Mr. Sean McSavaney of ISCAHM performs a micro-teaching demonstration adopting the CBT Modality as part of his requirement for the completion of the TM 1.
Mr. Eleody Abarca from OSPA Training Center in Ormoc City receives his certificate of achievement from Ms. Jocelyn Villamor, one of the TM 1 facilitators of RTC VII.

The 1st and 2nd batches of the TM 1 were conducted in Tagbilaran City last January 16 – February 3, 2012 while the 3rd Batch was held in DDumaguete City last April 23 – May 11, 2012. The 3rd batch was conducted at the Regional Training Center last May 7 – 25, 2012.
Two more batches are scheduled to be conducted at the RTC for the remaining 2 quarters of this year. The next batch will start on July 23. 2012 and the last batch will be on November of this year.
